The Philadelphia Flyers Suck

This team hurts my soul. Yes they beat the Rangers last night, but they blew a 2-0 lead in the game and needed OT to get the W. This team has fallen off hard and I just don't understand it. The talent on this roster, the potential, all just thrown out the window night after night with the most inconsistent play I've ever seen. Now the team finds themselves on the outside of the playoff picture looking in.

Thanks to Boston's 10 game skid right now we are only a point behind them, but I don't expect that to last. The Isles, Caps, and Pens are all scorching hot right now, which shouldn't last either. It's crazy how the Isles, who were multiple points behind us just a few weeks ago are now 11 points ahead. Goes to show you how quickly things can change in this league, especially in this shortened season.

At just about the halfway point this team has serious work today. Going 5-5 over 10 game stretches is not going to get it done. If this team is going to get back in the playoff picture they need to start going at least 7-2-1 in their 10 game stretches. Moves need to be made as well. This defense is Charmin soft. The defensive corp is one of the most pathetic in the league. Our goalies are getting shelled. Just look at this shit from last night.

That's a 3 on none. How Joel Farabee is the only man back in this situation blows my mind. That's an easy goal if Carter Hart wasn't such a stud. Which brings me to my next point, which is we are tinkering on the brink of ruining Carter Hart. His confidence is getting shattered thanks to the horrendous defense in front of him. Night after night he's having to make saves like that one just to keep us in games. He's making saves like that and the Rangers still scored 4 goals last night. Only the Philadelphia Flyers could ruin a can't miss goalie prospect like Carter Hart.

I have 0 faith in this team moving forward. We will be lucky to make the playoffs, and if we do we are getting bounced early. We just dropped 3 straight to the Caps and 2 of 3 to the Pens. The win against the Pens coming from a miraculous comeback after we went down 3-0 immediately. We play the Rangers again tomorrow, and then have the luxury of getting to play the hottest team in hockey in the Isles for 3 straight games. We are seriously on the brink of being out of playoff contention by the end of next week. God help us all.
